India lockdown: UP govt to transport migrant workers to their respective homes in 1000 buses

Uttar Pradesh DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi on March 28 said the authorities have done all preparations to send stranded passengers to their respective homes amid the nationwide lockdown in wake of coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the UP government has arranged 1000 buses to transport these workers to their respective homes. Hundreds of migrant labourers and other people were seen at Charbagh bus station in Lucknow to get back to their homes in different parts of the state. Thousands of migrant workers are fleeing cities by walking on foot amid the coronavirus lockdown. Number of positive coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 873 which include 19 deaths.
