NEW DELHI: IndiGo and Air India banned TDP MP J C Dinakar Reddy from flying as he created a ruckus at Visakhapatnam airport after missing his flight.

IndiGo banned him from flying after the footage was aired on TV channels.

"IndiGo confirms the incident of an unruly behaviour at Visakhapatnam airport today. Mr. JC Diwakar Reddy, who was scheduled to fly with IndiGo 6E-608 enroute Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad reported 28 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. The staff politely informed him that boarding for flight 6E-608 is closed and offered to accommodate Mr Reddy in the subsequent flight. Mr Reddy expressed his annoyance and soon raged against the staff using aggressive and abusive behaviour. IndiGo saw a footage aired by some media personnel – which shows visual representation of Mr Reddy’s aggressive behaviour against the staff and further damaging the airport property. According to the Times Now clip aired this evening at around 5 PM – it states that Mr JC Diwakar Reddy, TDP, MP first created ruckus at the airport in 2016, October and now goes on rampage against the airline staff (IndiGo), arrives late for flight and vandalizes airport property," the airline said in a statement.

After IndiGo's ban, Air India also banned the MP from flying.

"The incident happened in Visakhapatnam is mater of Concern. As Indigo has banned the MP to travel so Air India has also barred," said Dhananjay Kumar, Spokesperson at Air India.

Other airlines could not be reached for their comments on the issue.
