The final itinerary would be finalised soon with an advance SPG team expected in Ayodhya this week but the PM is expected to arrive in Ayodhya around 11 AM on August 5 and perform the Bhoomi Pujan at 12:15 pm followed by his speech, a senior government official told ET. The famous Hanumangarhi temple is on the way to the Ramjanambhoomi premises.
Rahul Gandhi had visited Hanumangarhi temple during the election campaign in UP in 2016 and Priyanka Gandhi offered prayers here in 2019 but both had avoided visiting the Ram Janambhoomi. Former PM Indira Gandhi had also gone to this temple many years ago.
The Ram Temple Trust is still finalising the list of 200 invitees for the function. Senior officials in the RSS said the event will be similar to the day VHP was launched with participation from the "dharamgurus" of all "religions born in India." Specific invites will be sent to at least three representatives from Jain, buddhism and Sikh sects, historians and archaeologists who have spent a lifetime fighting for the Ram Temple, Sangh parivar leaders who did not let the issue die down, and more importantly, seers and sadhus of at least 20 mutts who have contributed to the struggle. Invites could also go to MPs and MLAs around Ayodhya, and in UP and to some Muslim leaders who have supported the Ram Temple. "If the sadhus have passed away, we will urge the mutt to send in a representative," an official said.
Ayodhya MP Lallu Singh who told ET that he has not got an invite yet, said the BJP was working hard to organise a grand festivity on August 5. "There are over 825 villages in Ayodhya. We are asking all households to put up bandanwar (door hanging of mango leaves) to celebrate the God coming home. They have always been told to put up an "Om dwaj" on top of temples and houses," he said, adding that August 4 and August 5 will be celebrated as a Deepotsav in the temple town, resembling its look during Diwali.
VHP working president Alok Kumar said the organisation was mainly working towards channelising public sentiment on the day. "We are reaching out to people, asking them to assemble in their houses or temples, pray and watch the ceremony, and do pranaams facing Ayodhya. Every household should at least light five earthen lamps in the evening."

Let every household celebrate the day with appropriate gaiety and make good food offering to Shri Ram and Maa Sita, Laxman ji and Hanuman Ji. It means each person's psyche may benefit from a few moments of absolute peace, tranquility and sublimity in just praying to Shri Ram.
