PM Modi is now worth nearly Rs 2.85 crore as of June 30, 2020, up from nearly Rs 2.49 crore worth of assets declared by him in 2019. The PM’s net worth has been increasing at a similar pace in the earlier years too as his savings grow. The increase this year is primarily in his bank balance by about Rs 3.3 lakh and an increase in the value of his bank fixed deposits by about Rs 33 lakh from last year. The rest of the PM’s assets remain largely the same, including a house in Gandhinagar worth Rs 1.10 crore at current value. The PMs Assets declaration this time mentions that this particular immovable property is held by him along with three other joint owners, each having an equal share of 25 percent.
The value of assets held by Home Minister Amit Shah however has dropped from Rs 32.3 crore in 2019 to Rs 28.6 crore as on March 31, 2020, as per his declaration. This is primarily due to the market value of the quoted securities held by him dropping from Rs 17.9 crore last year to Rs 13.5 crore as of March 31 this year. The net worth of his spouse, Sonal Amit Shah, decreased slightly from Rs nine crore last year to Rs 8.53 crore now as the market value of quoted securities held by her fell from Rs 4.4 crore to Rs 2.25 crore. The couple now has a new property against their name worth Rs 1.36 crore.
The net worth of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remained exactly the same as last year at Rs 2.97 crore.
