Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant resigns from Modi's cabinet

Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant, who is union minister for heavy industries, is resigning from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. "I am resigning from my ministerial post," news agency ANI quoted Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant as saying. Arvind Sawant is Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP from south Mumbai.The development comes as the BJP declined to form government in Maharashtra on Sunday. While the Sena has been making efforts to reach out to the NCP and the Congress, the Sharad Pawar-led party said the Sena will have to walk out of the NDA first.
