The Chennai Super Kings won the inaugural match of the 11th edition of Indian Premier League.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 165 for four against the returning CSK in the opening match.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to field at the Wankhede Stadium.

Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with a 29-ball 43, while Ishan Kishan struck 40 off 29 balls.

Krunal Pandya blasted an unbeaten 41 off 22 to prop up MI.

However, a brilliant innings of 68 by Bravo helped CSK to get the required score in just 19.5 overs. Bravo made 68 in just 30 balls.

Brief Scores: MI 165/4 (Krunal Pandya 41 off 22 balls, Ishan Kishan 40 off 29 balls, Suryakumar Yadav 43 off 29 balls)

CSK 169 for 9 in 19.5 overs (Dwayne Bravo 68 off 30 balls, Mayank Markande 3/23, Hardik Pandya 3/24).
