The world awaits Tim Cook to take the stage and unveil the new iPhone, but thousands of kilometers away, billionaire and Asia's richest man, Jack Ma celebrated his company's 18th anniversary birthday by dressing up as Michael Jackson and dancing to Billie Jean.

Ma rode onstage in a motorcycle, but was not immediately recognizable by the employees of Alibaba who had gathered in a stadium, as he wore a mask. About two minutes into his performance Ma removes his mask to reveal his identity and is greeted by a loud cheer by the Alibaba employees. Ma, who was on stage for about six minutes, took everyone by surprise as he flaunted his dance moves.

Ma has every reason to celebrate as Alibaba's revenue rose to 50.2 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) in the three months ended June and the company has a targeted 45 to 49 percent growth in annual revenue. Under Ma, Alibaba is today the world's sixth-largest company in terms of market capitalization. Revenues have jumped 56 percent profit has nearly doubled as Ma has a stranglehold over ecommerce and bolstered by revenues from its cloud computing, streaming and even brick and mortar retail.

Ma, however, is not alone in being an entertainer. Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma during an office party went onstage and took the responsibility of entertaining his employees with his dance moves early this year. Alibaba is a major shareholder in Paytm.

Virgin chairman, Richard Branson is a well known 'showman' and frequently indulges in a bit of drama. In 2007, Branson came dressed as a groom to a press conference in Delhi on a horse.
