    PUNE: Enterprise cloud computing firm Nutanix is starting to see increased business from government on the back of higher investments in and Smart City initiatives, a top company executive said.

    Anantharaman Balakrishnan, vice-president and MD – Sales, Nutanix India told ET that the segment was emerging as one of the fastest growing for Nutanix in India. “Nutanix works with both State and Central government in tier-I and tier-II cities. Apart from this, the shift to hybrid cloud is driving enterprise growth. Enterprise cloud works as a bridge from private to public cloud,” he said. The shift, he said, was happening from hardware to software-driven projects. The company recently concluded a $1 million software deal with a bank in India, he added.

    “Beyond this, we are working at helping customers set up their cloud infrastructure and determine what goes on public and private cloud,” Balakrishnan said.
