The funds are for the company’s latest project, a political strategic board game Shasn. The company claimed that it has reached funding goal within 24-hours with the help of over 333 backers.
Designed by Memon and his team of artists, activists, and gamers - Shasn is a table-top game about ethics, politics, and strategy. It simulates the experience of on-ground politics and puts players inside the minds of politicians as they make policy decisions, influence voters, capture areas and build ideologies.
The game was picked from over thousands of projects on Kickstarter, to headline the crowd-funding website globally.
“I have always appreciated games as a high-impact medium,” Memon said. “A major reason we made the game is that our political discourse is broken. People aren’t able to converse anymore about the most important problems of our world. We wanted to create an intervention that would facilitate that.”
The game has already started receiving positive reviews internationally, especially in the UK and USA. Matt Groening, creator of ‘The Simpsons’, and Siri creator Tom Gruber are both self-professed fans of the game. Stephen Gulik of Everything Board Games has also mentioned that Shasn is “the best thing” to come out of American politics in a very long time.
