Sodexo India appoints new country president

The company said he would be responsible for driving corporate governance and strategic directorial responsibility for all of Sodexo’s operations across India.

NEW DELHI: Sodexo India has appointed Rohit Bahety to the role of country president, said the company. Bahety, who took over his new role this month, will also continue to be chief financial officer of the company.

The company’s earlier country president Rishi Gour, who had taken charge of the role in 2015, has resigned from Sodexo this month. He started his stint Sodexo in 2011 as chief operating officer.

The company has also appointed Karan Totlani as segment director of corporate services, India – he was earlier a senior leader in the same segment.Bahety joined Sodexo in 2006, and has handled finance roles in India and the United Kingdom.

“We are confident to tap the growth opportunities presented by the booming internet-based, technology organizations in the corporate space… healthcare, education and the energy sector, thus augmenting …growth. To do so, we will invest in technology and partner with the start-up eco-system to help clients optimize their business operations in line with our sustainability principles,” said Bahety to ET.

The company said he would be responsible for driving corporate governance and strategic directorial responsibility for all of Sodexo’s operations across India. Totlani will be responsible for driving growth, profitability, innovation and client-centricity of the corporate services segment, which includes food and facilities management. Totlani joined the company in 2013, the same year the company acquired MacLellan, a facilities management business.

Sodexo is a French multinational founded in 1966 that deals primarily in food and facilities management services. It also provides personal care services such as elder-care for corporate professionals, and benefits and reward services. The company said it has over 46000 employees in around 1200 sites in India.
