Synopsis

STPI has told the industry lobby that its existing rules, which permit WFH, allow workers to take equipment from official premises for extended durations. The government body has also authorised its directors to facilitate companies that want to reduce rented space in its premises across the country.

NEW DELHI: Software units housed within the national technology parks of India will face no curbs with regard to moving employees and assets to a remote working model on a permanent basis, the nodal IT export promotion body has told industry representatives.This will pave the way for a significant percentage of India’s 4.3 million IT workforce to move towards a dominant model of work-from-home (WFH), both during the pandemic and thereafter.The
