  • "We are working with pilot community...of the customer airlines and the flight attendants. We are working with our customers (airlines) to figure out how we can communicate the message to passengers," said Darren Hulst, Deputy Vice President of Commercial Marketing, Boeing in New Delhi.

According to the Boeing, factors such as exponential domestic passenger traffic growth, new long-haul opportunities and infrastructure development will lead to the fulfilment of the demand forecast. India's passenger traffic had risen at around 20 per cent in recent years, making it one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets.

The dollar index against a basket of six major currencies was steady at 97.952.

But if the outlook deteriorates, the BoE said a rate cut would become more likely.

The new difficulties compound the troubles facing the US manufacturer, which has faced tumbling profits, federal scrutiny and calls for its CEO to resign after deadly crashes involving the 737 MAX, the successor aircraft for the 737NG. Australian national carrier Qantas said it had found cracks in three of its 737NGs and removed them from service for repairs.

Investigations by The New York Times have revealed that Boeing employees sometimes felt pressure to play down safety concerns and meet deadlines, that key FAA officials didn’t fully understand MCAS.

For months, Boeing had largely not acknowledged blame. Tuesday's hearing represents Boeing's broadest acceptance of responsibility that it made mistakes, though Muilenburg's written testimony did not describe in detail what those mistakes were.

"UPS commenced its six weekly flights from Delhi with its Boeing 747-8F aircraft, the company's largest freighter aircraft, which came from Bangkok," added the statement.

The announcement by Qantas came after authorities in Seoul said nine of the planes were grounded in South Korea in early October, including five operated by Korean Air. Boeing had previously reported a problem with the model’s “pickle fork”. This prompted US regulators to early this month order immediate inspections of aircraft.
