  • The Delhi High Court has asked the Centre not to fill via deputation the senior administrative grade (SAG) level posts, like that of IG and DIG, in the ITBP, BSF and CRPF without informing it in advance. The direction by a bench of Justices S Muralidhar and Talwant Singh has been issued in several petitions which have opposed filling up of the top posts.

    Home Minister Amit Shah is learnt to have asked heads of all central forces to switch to ‘Make-in-India’ products and promote use of khadi, including using Khadi fabric for uniforms. Home ministry officials confirmed the development saying that more than 1 million personnel of CRPF, BSF, SSB, ITBP, CISF, NSG and Assam Rifles will be using uniform made of terry-Khadi.

    The Congress general secretary's office has taken up the issue of the security breach that occurred on November 26 with the Central Reserve Police Force, they said.

    "Inputs indicate that attempts are being made by Pakistan-based terror outfits to reactivate its camp at Balakot and restart their religious and Jihadi indoctrination courses against India," Union minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said replying a written question in Rajya Sabha.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah said security of Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul and Priyanka has not been withdrawn but changed to 'Z-plus' with ambulance. Replying to the debate on the SPG (Amendment) Bill, he asserted that the BJP does carry out any action with a vindictive approach and it was the Congress which took many such decisions in the past.

    On Monday, the first day of the Winter Session, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had raised the issue of SPG security, saying the move to withdraw the cover of party chief Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi was "arbitrary".

    During his visit to the CRPF headquarters at the CGO Complex on Lodhi Road, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to the force's personnel killed in the line of duty and put a garland around an urn containing the soil from the 'Sardar Post' in Gujarat's Rann of Kutch. The urn is kept at the headquarter's entrance.

    Union home minister Amit Shah visited the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters and expressed his thoughts on Twitter saying the country is proud of the “exemplary valour” of CRPF personnel. With a strength of more than 300,000 personnel, the CRPF is designated as the lead force for internal security duties and anti-Maoist operations.

    Last month, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had directed the CAPFs to undertake a mega manpower planning and ensure that around seven lakh jawans get to spend at least 100 days with their families in a year. Shah was given a presentation in September about the functioning of the CAPFs in the ministry, following which he gave certain directions regarding the same.
