    The BJP announced a massive countrywide campaign to share details of the Citizenship Amendment Act and assure people that it is not against existing citizens and to expose “lies” and “myths” being spread against it. The BJP will contact more than three crore families in the next 10 days.

With this, the Congress has named candidates on the 31 seats it is contesting in the polls to the 81-member Assembly.

    Celebrations for Chhath puja are grand every year at Lalu Prasad's home but things have changed now as the RJD chief is away in Ranchi serving a jail term and his two sons having had a falling out with each other. Lalu Prasad is observing Chhath in the paying ward of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, where he is undergoing treatment.

    Congress president Sonia Gandhi approved the candidature of Sona Ram Sinku from Jaganathpur (ST), Suresh Baitha in place of Rajiv Kumar from Kanke (SC) and Sunny Toppo from Mandar. The Jarkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal had recently announced a pre-poll tie-up for the state with former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren.

    Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Bhupender Yadav told reporters here that the Congress and Gandhi were "exposed" by the apex court's verdict and they should now tender an apology.
