The model has already sold nearly 20,000 units since its entry into India last year. Now the company is planning to bring a 6-seater version of the car called Hector Plus in Q3 this year to further strengthen the Hector brand in India. MG Motor aims at democratising EV tech in India
MG Motor India said it wants to offer more choice to Indian consumers in the electrified vehicle segment. Its parent company, SAIC has invested $3.2 billion in new energy vehicles in the last few years. The company has globally unveiled 20 electrified vehicles including plug-in hybrids, pure electrics, in 10 years.

“We will launch a high-end sports utility vehicle, Gloster, in the festive season this year. This would be followed by a midsize SUV in 2021,” MG Motor India president Rajeev Chaba told ET. “With these four products, we aim to sell 100,000 vehicles annually in 2021.”
