Shaffaq Mohammed, a native of Mirpur in PoK is a Member of European Parliament (MEP) from the United Kingdom who is originally behind the draft resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which is reportedly supported by 154 of 751 members of the European Parliament. It may, however, not receive support from majority of MEPs, ET has learnt.

Budget session of Parliament may start from Jan 31
The final dates will be notified by the government after the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) recommends the dates for the session. A meeting of the CCPA is likely to be held soon. The budget session will start with President's address to the joint sitting of Parliament and the Economic Survey is likely to be presented on the same day.

CCPA recommends Budget Session from Jan 31; Union Budget on Feb 1
There is usually a month-long break between the two phases of the Budget Session to allow parliamentary committees to examine budgetary allocations made to various ministries. The President convenes both Houses of Parliament on the recommendation made by the Union Cabinet. CCPA has recommended holding the Budget Session in two phases from January 31 to April 3.
Special Session of Kerala Assembly on December 31
A decision in this connection was taken at the cabinet meeting here on Sunday, a Chief Minister's Office press release said. The cabinet also decided to recommend to the Governor to convene the special session.
