Little to show 'other than surname': Prashant Kishor takes dig at Scindia's exit

"Amazing that those who usually find fault with Gandhis leading Congress because of their surname are finding a Scindia leaving INC as big jolt for the party! Fact is but for his surname even Jyotiraditya Scindia has little to show as mass leader, political organiser or administrator," Kishor said.

The X factor: Is it time to take Prashant Kishor seriously?

JD(S) in talks with Prashant Kishor for State Poll strategy

Janata Dal (S) is in preliminary talks with election strategist Prashant Kishor (...

  • Prashant Kishor, who opposes the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), says Nitish Kumar needs to spell out whether he is with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi or those who support Godse.

Shashwat Gautam, a former national coordinator in the Congress Party’s data analytics department during the Lok Sabha elections, has accused ace political strategist Prashant Kishor of stealing a campaign slogan, logo and data he had created for the Bihar assembly elections expected later this year.

Prashant Kishor had joined hands with the AAP in December last year, and he advised the party to not respond to the negative campaigning of the BJP, which were focussed more on the anti-CAA protests in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh.

Not long after the results in Delhi, Prashant Kishor has emerged in Patna, launching a campaign that many believe might lead to his own entry into electoral politics. Once a backroom aide who obsessed over his privacy, Kishor is getting used to being recognised in public.

After the results came in on Tuesday, election strategist Prashant Kishor who had joined hands with the Aam Aadmi Party in December last year, took to microblogging site Twitter to say, “Thank you Delhi for standing up to protect the soul of India.”

Both leaders have been critical of the party president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his support to the CAA and the NPR. A JD (U) statement, issued by party's chief general secretary K C Tyagi, said that these two were "acting against party's decisions as well as its functioning" which amounted to breach of discipline.

After facing setbacks in successive polls, the JD(S)leadership is planning to hold talks with poll strategist Prashant Kishor on plans to revive the party for the future, top party sources said on Thursday.

Forty two-year-old Prashant Kishor, whose first claim to fame was the management of Narendra Modi's election campaign in 2014, said, "Also would like to reassure to all -- Bihar mein CAA-NRC laagu nahin hoga (CAA-NRC will not be implemented in Bihar)".

Over one lakh Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers would fan out across the state as part of the campaign and make people understand how Banerjee is key for the development and growth of West Bengal and preserving its communal harmony, sources in the party said.

Kishor is said to have maintained his position before Kumar that the CAB was unconstitutional. On Friday, another senior leader of the JD (U), RCP Singh had said Kishor should quit the party if he did not agree with the CMs stand on CAB. Kumar however rejected Kishor’s offer to resign on Saturday.

The poll-strategist-turned politician, whose party is an alliance partner of the BJP, asserted that the change in stance was prompted by country-wide agitations against the new citizenship law and the proposed NRC.

A day after Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi's caustic tweets against the expelled JD(U) leader, the alliance partner's chief whip in the Lok Sabha Sanjay Jaiswal, who also heads the state unit, came out with a Facebook post a common feature, though, being avoidance on part of both BJP leaders to mention Kishor by name.
