    The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has filed a police complaint against a booklet that claims RSS was rewriting India’s Constitution.

    The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) stated here on Friday that it had nothing to do with a a document circulating on social media titled `new constitution' with a picture of Sangh supremo Mohan Bhagwat on it.

    A protest broke out at a pro-CAA ulema meet called by RSS leader Indresh Kumar led Muslim Rashtriya Manch at the Constitution Club on Thursday, when around 10 people in the front of the stage started shouting anti-CAA slogans.

    A mass public contact and awareness programme would be launched in which over 30,000 neighbourhood meetings will be held across the city. The aim would also be to highlight the policies being pursued by the incumbent state government led by Arvind Kejriwal, sources said.

    The act of the southern state, which had earlier convened a special session of the assembly and passed an unanimous resoultion seeking repeal of the amendment, was an intervention from within the purview of the Constitution, Vijayan said. Kerala is the first state to pass the resolution and file a petition against the CAA.

    They said the three students, Pankaj Mishra, Vasker Vijay Mech and Ghosh, were questioned by the crime branch officers. They said that three other students -- Akshat Awasthi, Rohit Shah and Komal Sharma -- were absconding. Awasthi and Shah, who are first-year students of JNU, had featured in a sting operation conducted by a TV news channel.

    BJP and RSS are holding a series of meetings with UP’s Muslim clergy, professionals and academics on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), in Kanpur, Meerut, Jaunpur, Lucknow and four other places in Uttar Pradesh.

    Last week, the Uddhav Thackeray government scrapped the move of the erstwhile Fadnavis government to appoint ‘expert directors’ at the Agriculture Market Produce Committee (APMC). The government claimed that the previous regime had used this provision to appoint RSS and BJPmembers at the APMCs, to control them.

    The technology entrepreneur, and an Accenture top executive, had come under fire on Twitter early this week after a digital poster announced them as guests at an RSS event in Chennai in February. Twitter users called for boycott of products for their association with RSS.

    The petition also sought directions for preservation and retrieval of all material/evidences available with WhatsApp INC, Google INC and Apple INC pertaining to relevant data of WhatsApp groups 'Unity Against Left' and 'Friends of RSS' including messages, pictures, videos and phone numbers of the members, in connection with the violence at JNU.
