  • ​​According to the Experis IT Employment Outlook Survey (EITEOS), the overall IT hiring intention of Indian employers for the period between October 2019-March 2020 stood at 47.54 per cent, down from 53.41 per cent in the last six months.

    This year’s Global Talent Trends report focuses on how empathy is reshaping the way employers hire and retain talent, with companies working harder than ever to understand their employees more deeply, and better serve them. The four key trends of this year include employee experience, people analytics, internal recruiting and multi-generational workforce.

    "Currently, managers often need to spend time filling in forms, updating information and approving workflows. By using AI to automate these tasks, they can spend less time managing transactions and can invest more time on learning, performance management and goal setting," Helen Poitevin, research vice- president at Gartner, said.

    Indian seafarers will be eligible to be placed on ships under the flag of another country for employment, thus leading to increased employment opportunities, the government said. “The bilateral MoU would, therefore, make the seafarers of both countries eligible for employment on ships of either party, based on the certificates so recognised,” an official statement said.

    While overall employment numbers did increase, sectors like IT and finance did not see much growth.

    It is an irritating way to describe ideal conditions for markets and the economy.

    In an interview to PTI, Finnish employment minister Timo Harakka said that his government plans to reduce the time taken to grant work visas to just one to two weeks by next year. The move is aimed primarily at attracting more software professionals from countries like India, he said.

    Rule-based jobs, which are a small proportion of employment in the country, will be disrupted by advances in technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and robotics, in line with what is happening in the West.

    More than half of Gen Zers worldwide (54%) – including 62% in the UK and 59% in the US – say pay is the most important consideration when applying for their first full-time job. Money becomes increasingly important the older the Gen Zer, with 57% of 22- to 25-year-olds agreeing that nothing outweighs pay, compared to 49% of the 21-and-under crowd.

    Qualcomm is the biggest recruiter so far, with 23 offers made. Samsung Research has made eight offers, while multinational drink and brewing company AB Inbev (of Budweiser beer fame) has also made eight offers. Semiconductor company Texas Instruments also made eight offers. Technology and semiconductor company Intel made seven offers.

    Biocon continues to be the only company from Asia to feature on the prestigious US-based 'Science' magazine's annual 'Science Careers Top 20 Employers' list, since its debut in 2012.

    The company said Sachdeva will be responsible for accelerating growth in the payer and pharma segments while also driving adoption of the company’s technologies.
