SC to consider appointing its ex-judge to inquire into encounter of rape-murder accused in Hyderabad
"We are conscious of the fact that the Telangana High Court had taken note of it," a bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) S A Bobde said, adding that the top court only wants that a Delhi-based former apex court judge should hold inquiry into the case. "We propose to appoint a former Supreme Court judge to inquire into it," said the bench.

The rape and murder of a young woman in Hyderabad was gruesome enough. The response of the state, of rounding up four presumed culprits and bumping them off in a so-called encounter, was no less appalling. The response of many, particularly those in public life, who gleefully cheered the police action, is indeed horrific.
NHRC takes cognisance of Hyderabad encounter, orders probe
"The commission is of the opinion that this matter is required to be probed very carefully. Accordingly, it has asked its Director General (Investigation) to immediately send a team for a fact-finding, on-the-spot investigation into the matter," the NHRC said.
