Three Rafale jets handed over to India: Government

    Spicejet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh on Wednesday said that the airline is studying the market and may start operation to UAE's Ras Al Khaimah by the beginning of next year. "Just like we operate flights to Dubai, we can operate flight to Ras Al Khaimah," he said, adding that while bilateral rights between Indian cities and Ras Al Khaimah are thin.

    SpiceJet will first start flight operations between India and Ras Al Khaimah by early next year and after that establish a new airline in the UAE city.

    The tieup is commercial and SpiceJet to collaborate with Gulf Air in engineering, cargo, personnel.

    "SpiceJet and Gulf Air will look at collaborating in the field of pilot training to nurture talent in order to deliver the finest resources for both the airlines. The airlines will also engage and collaborate to enhance their respective cargo and engineering services," the Indian budget carrier said in a statement.

    Airlines seem to be in a doom loop, with excess capacity and not enough places to fly aircraft profitably.

    On Monday, the Mumbai bench of the NCLT directed the resolution professional to communicate with the South American firm Synergy Group to appear before the bench. The tribunal has also made the ministry of civil aviation and DGCA party to the case and sought their response regarding the availability of the slots to fly between destinations.

    In a statement, Ministry of Defence Spokerperson has said: "​​During a training mission, after take off from INS HANSA at Dabolim a Mig 29k trainer aircraft suffered an engine fire. JPPL, part of Etihad Aviation Group which holds 50.1 per cent stake, said it offers the members the opportunity to earn and redeem 'InterMiles' across more than 10 categories and over 150 programme partners.
