    Labour minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar informed the Rajya Sabha that if there is a strike in any unit, they (employees) would have to inform at least 14 days in advance. He said this is part of the new labour law which the government is bringing and the ministry is in touch with the various state governments.

    “The basic intent of anti-dumping measures is to eliminate injury caused to the domestic industry by the unfair trade practice of dumping and to create a level playing field for the domestic industry,” commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal told Lok Sabha. In a separate reply, he said the government will use all available instruments in the national interest, as and when necessary.

    The ministry has informed the CAG that it has examined the matter in consultation with IOC and BPCL and directed both companies to recover the “unauthorised” payments made to their employees. The two companies have been asked to furnish action taken report on the matter.

    ​ "There should be a pan-India single wage day every month across various sectors to ensure that workers get timely payment of salaries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen on this legislation to get passed soon. Similarly, we are also looking at uniform minimum wages across sectors which will safeguard better livelihood of workers," he said.
