How to use India Post mobile app to access your post office savings accounts
This app can be used by only those customers who have an account in core banking enabled post office. KYC of the account should be complete beforehand. The account should have internet banking and mobile banking services enabled.
This application is available on Android as well as IOS platforms and can be downloaded to access mobile-based banking services of the post office.
This app can be used by only those customers who have an account in core banking enabled post office. KYC of the account should be complete beforehand. The account should have internet banking and mobile banking services enabled. If not, the customer needs to fill up a form and submit it in the post office to get them enabled.
Once the mobile and Internet based services have been activated, an existing customer can use the app to access his account online using his login details and OTP. Upon authentication, the customer will be able to set a four digit MPIN to login to the application and access accounts
A new customer can also open a post offi ce savings bank account using the app. One needs to click on ‘Open your account now’ tab and enter the mobile number and PAN. An OTP will be sent for verifi cation. Upon entering OTP, the customer will have to enter the Aadhaar number and accept the conditions for Aadhaar authentication. He can then go on to follow the on-screen instructions to be able to open the account.
One can view account balances, statements, request for a cheque book, stop payment on a cheque, transfer funds within the bank or to other accounts, pay utility bills and use sweep-in sweep-out facilities by using the app.
Points to note
- As the application has recently been launched, some of the above services or facilities are sometimes not operational.
- PPF account opened with banks cannot be accessed using this facility.
